On December 14th, the World Economic Forum (WEF) announced the new batch of members of the Global Lighthouse Network, and China Resources Building Materials Technology Tianyang Cement was selected as an "Advanced Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) Lighthouse," becoming the first "Lighthouse Factory" in the global building materials industry and the first "Lighthouse Factory" among central enterprises in the Greater Bay Area.
China Resources Building Materials Technology, focusing on technology and data, has been selected as one of the six leading cases in the annual Global Lighthouse Network White Paper. This further demonstrates China Resources' global competitiveness and leading position.
China Resources Building Materials Technology began exploring smart factory construction in 2018. With a focus on EHS management, mining, production, quality, equipment, and shipping, it designed smart manufacturing solutions and selected Tianyang Cement in Baise, Guangxi as a pilot for the "trial and implementation" of a fully-integrated smart factory. Tianyang Cement has achieved significant improvements in personnel efficiency, equipment efficiency, sustainability, and quality through digital use cases and advanced technologies, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 24%, increasing per capita cement production by 105%, reducing unplanned equipment downtime by 56%, and improving quality stability by 25%.
Based on the characteristics of the building materials industry, China Resources Building Materials Technology has customized the "Runfeng Intelligent" vertical industry Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform. It now serves all 35 cement bases and 2 business units of China Resources Building Materials Technology, supporting the rapid development and deployment of digital use cases in various business areas. With 26 categories and over 100 algorithms, it reduces construction and operation costs by approximately 30% and improves the efficiency of research and application of intelligent manufacturing scenarios by approximately 50%. The successful declaration of Tianyang Cement as a "Lighthouse Factory" is not only a vivid practice of China Resources Building Materials Technology's efforts to become a pioneer in the digital transformation of central enterprises but also a beneficial exploration of the building materials industry to generate new industries, models, and driving forces through cutting-edge technologies and develop new quality production forces.
The selection of "Lighthouse Factories" is a collaboration between the World Economic Forum and McKinsey & Company. The selection process is extremely rigorous, and the awarded companies are recognized as the "most advanced factories in the world." They serve as exemplary examples of "digital manufacturing" and "globalization 4.0," representing the highest level of intelligent manufacturing and digitization in the global manufacturing industry. This release adds 21 new members to the Lighthouse Network, bringing the total number of "Lighthouse Factories" worldwide to 153.
